Therapeutic Approach

I am a Humanistic psychologist, which means I believe life change occurs through the context of relationships. I also believe change can only happen when you are highly motivated for something different. My initial aim is to understand who you are (your truth) within a sociocultural context as well as who you’d like to become. I highlight obstacles to you living your truth. My goal each visit is to collaborate with you to develop a concrete plan aimed to promote growth and well-being. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to process thoughts, behaviors, and emotions.

Both approaches are evidenced-based interventions, which means research and data indicate people improve when specific techniques are used. I do not believe that you will ALWAYS need me. My hope is to teach you how to challenge and manage life in a new way.
